Chicago Faucets Shines the Spotlight on Healthy Building Heroes
We think it is time to focus on those who are leaders in identifying issues and determining solutions for creating healthy indoor environments that keep us safe and healthy. Those individuals who have dedicated their careers to improving our built world, the quality of our environment, and our health. So, we are shining the spotlight on these unsung heroes by recognizing these Healthy Building Heroes throughout the year.
Meet Our First Honoree, Janet E. Stout PhD
We are excited to announce our first Healthy Building Hero is Janet E. Stout, PhD. Dr. Janet E. Stout is president of Special Pathogens Laboratory, and research associate professor at the University of Pittsburgh Swanson School of Engineering in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. For more than 30 years, Dr. Stout has been recognized for her pioneering research on Legionella, the bacterium that causes Legionnaires’ disease, a serious and potentially deadly lung infection. Because Legionella can be found in the water systems of places like hospitals, hotels, and schools, among others, Chicago Faucets has been following her work for decades in our mission to address the biggest water-delivery system challenges for commercial buildings.
Join Us and Dr. Stout in A Series Of Live Sessions
To honor Dr. Stout and give back to the community, we are honored to join Special Pathogens Laboratory to help promote their mission to stop this preventable disease through education and awareness. Chicago Faucets has partnered with the Special Pathogens Laboratory to host a series of webinars featuring Dr. Stout. The webinars are ideal for any professional involved in the design or maintenance of building water systems, healthcare engineering, water-related public health initiatives and healthy building design in commercial real estate.
